Action Network Coordinator Role Description

Background of Maximize NWMO

Maximize Northwest Missouri (NWMO) is the regional vitality initiative of The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri. Maximize NWMO exists to bring Northwest Missouri communities together to dream big, grow leaders, and collaborate across all sectors of health care, economics, education, housing and quality of life, enabling positive transformation and vitality.

Through a proven asset-based community development [ABCD] and systems approach to coaching and training leaders, the Maximize NWMO Guiding Coalition supports leaders who are committed to working together to dream big, decide wisely, and maximize the region’s potential by growing together. Ideal Candidate

Maximize NWMO is seeking a candidate who is a motivated self-starter who enjoys making connections and network building. The ideal candidate is an individual who already has an established network in NWMO or is enthusiastic about creating meaningful connections across our 18-county region through email, phone calls, in-person meetings, and standing gatherings with potential collaborators and participants*. The right individual should also be a quick learner focused on continuous improvement, collaborative and communicative, and good at follow-through and managing multiple details.

*These standing gatherings with potential collaborators and participants include the areas of business/economic development, health and safety, education from birth through retirement, housing and infrastructure, and other aspects of quality of life.

Skills & Experience

A positive/can-do attitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Suite, and Gmail are requirements.

Additional helpful skills and experience (or strong interest in learning) include community development, nonprofit management, event planning and coordination, project management, social determinants of health, Baldrige performance excellence criteria, leadership development, social media post creation and platform management, coordinating people from multiple organizations, Zoom online meetings management, and Adobe Design Suite.

Scope of Work

  • Serve as a member of the Maximize NWMO Guiding Coalition’s Network Coordination and Support Team, and help support the Navigation Team and Regional Partner Council, which are the other two groups of leaders that comprise the Guiding Coalition.

  • Serve as a coordinator and relationship-builder for the Maximize NWMO Communications CollaborACTION Team, a grassroots group in Maximize NWMO’s Action Network. Ensure that related activities are completed with excellence in support of the Guiding Coalition’s strategic priorities and gatherings around multi-sector partnership.

    • Coordinate and help nurture the development of an Ambassador network with representation from each of our 18 counties. This Ambassador network will serve to advance communications efforts and foster belonging within the Region, meeting monthly online via Zoom or in person.

    • Help form and support a strong grassroots volunteer “speakers bureau” within the Maximize NWMO Communications CollaborACTION Team.

    • Facilitate the development and execution of a regionwide Alumni and Resident Survey through the Guiding Coalition and the Communications CollaborACTION Team, recruiting responses across all 18 counties, to gather 5-year comparative results from the successful 2020 version of the survey.

  • Promote and connect the region through managing Maximize NWMO’s social media profiles.

  • Assist with the expansion of the Maximize NWMO website and newsletters as an information and connection hub around the above priorities and more for the 18-county primarily rural region by serving as an additional content creator and webmaster.

  • Help promote the new data platform to regional participants in Maximize NWMO’s programs to empower data-based awareness and decision-making.

  • As shared priorities are further identified within the Partner Council, assist the Navigation Team and Network Coordination and Support Team with establishing priority-specific Discovery Group online gatherings and hands-on CollaborACTION Teams, as needed.

  • Participate in any Maximize NWMO events and Regional Learning Collaborative programs to assist facilitators.
